About The Artist

Sophie Mohin Reisz is a publisher and emerging artist based in New York. Drawing inspiration from her diverse background and experiences traveling around the world, she began painting in 2022 in preparation of becoming an empty nester as her son prepared to go to college.

Inspired by the Old Dutch Masters of still life including Willem Claesz. Heda, Willem Kalf, Pieter Claesz, Jan Baptist Weenix, and Jan Davidsz. de Heem, she brings a unique style to her work, blending elements from European, American, and contemporary artists.

Her art invites viewers into a world where everyday objects and scenes evoke moments of nostalgia, simplicity, and encourages a genuine connection to life's simple and quiet everyday experiences.

Sophie hopes her work leaves a lasting impression with those who view, experience, and collect her work.
